Suraket team working session in a meeting room

A vendor MVP that never reached “done”

US-based operations company

01

Overview

A company paid for an operations MVP for the better part of a year. Demos showed screens. Staff still lived in spreadsheets. Acceptance had never been written down, so every week added “small” items.

02

Challenge

Leadership wanted a new vendor to “just finish.” The repository had no reliable deploy path. The original team was gone. Nobody could point to a definition of complete.

03

Solution

Suraket froze feature intake, restored a deployable main branch, and wrote an acceptance matrix for one staff journey: intake → assignment → close. Everything else was listed as later. We shipped that journey, trained the operators, and documented the remainder as a sequenced backlog.

04

The result

The company finally had a production workflow staff used. The remaining work was visible enough to budget. They stopped arguing about whether the previous vendor had “almost finished.”
